The boys - 'Z'-the-rapper Kien Wei, Low brothers (Eng & Yao) and Andrew flew to the land down under 9 days ago (They just left today, so gonna miss them :( It was a blast having them here! :D ) They hit Melbourne on the 30th of June ( the day I turned into a Free Willy).
And to kick start my July in Melbourne, the weather's really cold now, temperatures all coming down to single digits as low as 3-4, sometimes hitting 1. BRrrrrr~~~~
On the 1st of July, took the boys to the Smith Street for some sports factory outlets by tram. And later to the city towards Lygon Street for some yummeyzzz. From the tram stop, we had to walk to Lygon St. which took about 8-10 minutes and the boys started to complain bout walking too much.. Lol!
We were sort of spoilt for choice and finally settled in a cozy pizzeria called Mercadante Woodfired Pizzeria.
I'm guessing the 2 guys on the boat in this picture are the owners of the restaurant.
While waiting for our order, the pizza chef throw a lil piece of dough towards us, and we all went 'what the?'.. after the 2nd time he threw, we found out it was sort of their little 'pr-ing' with their guests. They have funny and weird ways of entertaining and interacting with their guests. Like throwing fake plates to scare them, wearing scary masks to scare their guests (which they tried on me but epic failed, instead he scared himself).Ok, to the main point of the topic, the F-O-O-D!!!
Here's what we ordered...
Vulcano Pizza - a double layered pizza base with mozzarella cheese, prosciutto crudo, fresh tomatoes, chilli, anchovies, bacon, spicy salami and some olives on a tomato based sauce. This was explosive!!! I highly recommend this! :D
Next is...
BBQ Grilled - On a tomato base with sausages, mozzarella cheese, olives and spring onions with bbq sauce and honey.
This one's not bad. Pretty ordinary pizza.
Last but not least, I too highly recommend this to vege-lovers. This pizza is the Vege-Bom!
Bellissma - also tomato base with chunks of potatoes, eggplant, capsicums, cucumbers, mushrooms, chunks of fetta cheese and rocket vegetable and pesto. Drizzled with balsamic vinegar.
For a not-so-vege-lover, I kinda love this :D
And the day ended with lots of walking and tram-sitting. Weather was pretty chilly that day but it was nice :D Can't stop laughing when the boys complain bout the walking... lol!!
