Pancake Parlour

Here in Australia, when you shop at their supermarkets, be it Coles or Safe Way.. Behind your receipt, there will be some promotional vouchers. And Maekhoo and I got some Buy 1 Free 1 Short Stack Pancake vouchers from Pancake Parlour.
Pancake Parlour is known to be pricy, so obviously we couldn't afford to eat there normally. But with this voucher, we thought why not? 10aud for 2 sets of short stack pancakes. Better not let the vouchers go to waste right?

It's a pretty cozy and fun looking place with all their hot-air balloon pictures on the top walls. There was even a model of the hot-air balloon hanging right above us which I thought of taking it just before we left but being the forgetful bug I am, I forgot!!! >.<

So we can either choose to have our short stack pancakes with Butter, Cream or Ice-cream.

I chose Ice-Cream!!! and this is my pancake...

Maekhoo chose butter and this is her stack... That's either Maple syrup or Honey that she poured over the stacks...

Overall I thought the pancakes were alright. Only satisfactory, nothing special. The best place for pancakes is still the one I went with my Dad and Sis in Adelaide which I can't remember where in Adelaide. Somewhere near Rundle Mall. Oh and the best part, it's 24 hours!!! Went there almost every night for late night dessert when I was in Adelaide for vacation. :D

There's always a 1st time for everything...

I didn't have class yesterday... Wednesdays are my day off from Uni besides the weekends... Yay me!!! :)

It was a nice chilly breezy day, so I thought of going to Northland for some winter coat shopping and to spend some alone time in a mall. I don't normally do that as I find it awkward and weird walking in a mall alone in Malaysia because everyone stares!!! No idea why, but Malaysian loves to stare at others =.='

So anyhooo, when I was there, I had the sudden urge to watch a movie, so I went to watch How To Train A Dragon :) I find the movie quite enjoyable. Very cute and funny dragons especially this black dragon he's riding on known as the Night Fury in the movie.
(Picture taken from google)

It was my FIRST time watching a movie in the cinema ALONE!! Felt kinda nice actually. haha! ;)
Oh by the way, student rate for movies here in the land down under is 14.50AUD. It's like watching a freaking gold class movie back in Malaysia. Boy is our currency lousy!! And like in Malaysia where on Wednesdays, movies rates are the cheapest; here, Tuesdays are the cheapest - 10.50AUD. Which still equals to a bloody gold class ticket!! >.<
But I managed to watch this animated movie for only 5AUD!! hehe... Why?
Because Kinder Bueno and Hoyts (the cinema) are having this promotion where by you just have to buy 2 packs of their specially coded chocolate with the special movie promotion wrapper, register online to get the 5AUD movie voucher and walah.... you get to enjoy a movie for only 5aud. The chocolate costs 2aud per pack, so altogether you'll get to enjoy any movie (except in 3D) for only 9aud and you'll get to indulge in delicious chocolate too!! I L-O-V-E the Kinder Bueno White!!! :D

Look how many we bought!!! but hurry, last chance to redeem your voucher is on the 13th of June...

Oh and this is what I cooked for dinner yesterday too!
Pan-fried Salmon with Mushroom cream sauce, simple boiled prawns with salt and pepper, and garlic bread which I didn't manage to snap a picture of. :D

Homesick No More...

With all the bbm-ing with the Awesome Group about chilli pan mee and chicken rice and all the Malaysian delicacies, just makes me homesick. (For the food only, hehe)

Was in the city last Sunday, and discovered this lil restaurant - Malaysian Chicken Rice & Wantan Noodles Restaurant.
Got all excited about it and decided to have dinner there. And OMG! once you step into that restaurant, besides having to squeeze your way into the restaurant, the smell of the chicken rice's rice, I guarantee you'll go WOW~~~ MMMM~~~
And it is as good as it smells and looks too!!! Now whenever I feel homesick, I'm going to indulge in this busy restaurant for sure!! Only 1 thing, it's 1 hour there and back to the city from my house :(

Roast Chicken and BBQ Pork Rice - Siew Kai Char Siew Fan!!!
Pork Noodle
Coconut Mince meat and BBQ Pork Wantan Mee...
For dessert,

Soya Bean Cendol with Gula Melaka!!! but the Gula Melaka is not as nice and thick as the one we get at home. It's so diluted here..

Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did :P
