Island Of GEM

Hey!!! This blog has finally revived!!! sorry to keep you guys waiting. (as if anyone is...)

Anyway, back in college now... Going to get busy with assignments and all. (Yeah, right!) ha!

BUT!

Before starting my ALL SO BORING classes, I went to have a taste of seawater with my family in 1 of Terengganu's AWESOME beach - Gem Island a.k.a Pulau Gemia. Seriously, I think Terengganu has the best beaches ever!!! (So far anyway) I know most of you would say Sipadan is way way way awesome, but... I have not been there yet, so so far Terengganu's the best for me. And for those who don't know where Gem Island is, it's the island opposite Kapas Island. With 101 chalet on the island.

Once we arrived, welcome drinks were served as usual, had a little briefing by the GM of the resort. I 'flew' to my room to get changed once the keys were handed to me. And away i go! away i go into the turquoise coloured salt water. Boy was the water clear, they had tons of marines to admire. AND AND AND!!! they had my all time favourite marine - The Clown Fish! They were everywhere! Took in my new awesome underwater camera and took tons of pictures of them. And i mean TONS... Well, the clown fishes were the only ones dominating the waters. There's another marine life that dominated this beach, and it's not very friendly. It's black with spikes to horrifying that you don't want to swim near it at all. It's none other than the Sea Urchins!!! They're like everywhere in the waters.

But first! let me show you my comfy comfy bed...

nice huh... the room's awesome too!!!
And now my favourites...

This is my favourite picture of the clown fish... the nicest and prettiest clown fish anemone too...

Saw really nice parrot fishes too... Once there's bread in the water, there's no way escaping... They'll come from every angle possible... Waters were so clear that everything looked sooooo fantastic underwater.

These are some of the other marine lives that you can see there...

Christmas Corals
I think this is called Fan Worms...
And this cute shy Porcupine Fish. This is a lucky shot as they're always hiding under big corals.
During this trip, I've also experienced something which i don't wish to experience a second time in my life... At least not till I've overcome my sea sickness... That is Squid fishing... They took us way out into the South China Ocean, stopped in the middle of no where and started dropping the fish lines into the deep deep deep blue sea. And man! the boat was rocking like mad! To a point where it can actually overturn. No, I'm serious. Water was actually pouring in from the sides as it's rocking. And of coz, I came back to the resort empty handed but gave the sea everything I've got =.=' But, mom was lucky... She was the 1st to fish up squids.. and she caught 2!!!

Yay mom!!!
These were our dinner for that night. I didn't eat any. And I'm not eating squid for awhile...
During our last evening, Dad and I were bored, so we decided to venture round the rocks by the end of the beach.

That's dad thinking he can lift that big rock...
And me waiting for him to stop trying...

And during the night, went for a last walk along the beach before heading home the next day. We found hermit crabs crawling on the beach...

Fun creatures...
Oh before I missed out these really adorable creatures... There's a pond where they rare turtles!!! and then put them back into the sea when they're old enough...

I had a picture carrying 1 of them but sadly, some monkeys stole my phone and now the pictures are gone.... Curse them!!!

Overall this was a really relaxing yet fun trip. Best thing to do before heading back to hell -college.

Hell's Fashion Show

First of all, hello again butterflies...

Most of you would know what i meant by Hell right? My Hell. Well, on the 17th of April, I was finally freed from the burning place. Although I'm really happy to leave, I'm too very sad to leave the friends I've made back there. The people who helped me through my training. Thanks a lot Sheratonians!!! Really appreciate it!! :)

Besides learning what i should learn. I felt my whole training was like a fashion show. Where i had to change uniform every now and then. I liked some of the uniforms and also hated some... lol...

This was my 1st uniform. (The old Front Office Design)
Liked this...
My second and my longest Uniform (The butler uniform)
Love this...
My 3rd (The new Front Office Uniform)
Loved this...
Forgot to take picture of my 4th (Room Attendant Uniform)
My 5th (Housekeeping Desk Clerk Uniform)
Hate this (It's pink!!!!)
My 6th (Housekeeping Room Supervisor old Design)
Hate this... (it's sooo big)
And i too forgot to take my 7th (last) uniform - the Laundry/Linen Uniform

Just only being in that hotel for 3 and a half months, I've changed 7 times... haha...

Stay tune for my sabah/diving trip!!!

Goodbye My Spotty Friend

Known as " Man's Best friend ", always loyal, sometimes obedient. Adorable as always!

Once around, now gone...

Just got a really terrible news from my mom earlier tonight. Apparently, my grandma's mixed Dalmatian passed away last night due to an ear infection. Can a dog die of ear infection?! Is that even possible?!?!?! Man was it shocking to receive such news...

I remember when my grandma 1st got it, i was like what, 13? 14? or even younger... And now I'm... well, sadly, I'm 20. Not really proud being 20 but.. Anyway, it's just so sad to hear that this adorable girl - Fa Li Lok- meaning messy in Cantonese i think, just died out of a sudden, with no proper explanation of the cause of death.

From what i heard, my grandma sent her to the vet and went home. Later in the day, when she wanted to go back to visit, the doctor didn't allow saying that she needs rest, it's best not to come see... Which freaking monkey doctor in the world would stop an owner from visiting their own pet friend?!?!?!?! Even if it's sooo serious that they need to be quarantined, the owners still deserved the rights to at least see them from a far right?!?!?! Later at night, the doctor called my grandma saying that she died. And when my grandma asked why, the only explanation given (with a tone of ignorance) was "erm, I think got cancer kua...". According to my grandma, the way the doctor answered her questions were like he was trying to give excuses. And according to what I've heard, I'm soooo freaking pissed at the doctor and really sad that she's gone now.

My heart felt like it has just been swallowed down my stomach when i got the news. I'm just so out of words.

This is she -Fa Li Lok named after all the messy spots around her.
And yes, she's not a pure Dalmatian, that's why her spots are brown instead of black.

That's how messy her spots are.
It's really hard to not have her around when I go visit my Grandma in Ipoh now. Seeing her since she was a pup till she grew into a beautiful lady dog. Such a lost. Sigh.

Yes, we will miss you so much.
May you rest in peace.

The Not So Deep Blue Sea...

Hey butterflies!!! I'm back from the dead... Yes Sdyney, FINALLY!!! (haha)...

Btw, i'm actually working right now... But... Afternoon shift is a total bore!!! especially starting from 9pm!!! no guests... no managers... just me, myself and the com... Though, it's pretty scary when it's time to off and lock... same goes for the morning shift - on and unlock... urgh!!! hate the darkness!!!

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, I visited Aquaria, KLCC. It was... not bad i think... but they can do better. once i entered, there were 3 small touch pools - 1 with sharks like below...

1 with starfishes

And 1 more with Horseshoe Crabs which i didn't touch nor took picture.

Moving on... I'll just show you pictures of some of the creatures they have in Aquaria.

Smiling Electric Eel....

Pirannas. They had loads of pirannas. Like a few aquariums filled with Pirannas...

Then there were snakes...

Green Tree Viper.

Python. Reminded me of the 1 in Bintan

And then, there's the tortoise family...

Can't remember what this is called. Rock turtle? can't even spot where it's eyes are...

Next, Scorpians...
There were the amphibians too...

Leave Frog i think...

And after having fun looking at those creatures... Next is 1 I fear most!!!

Spiders!!!!!!

After those hidious 8 legged freaks... I spotted this really cute sleeping aligator...

It's as if it's smilling while it's sleeping... cute huh?

Now, my mom's worst fear - Lizards!!!

Well, these aren't really lizards but geckos... Anyway, they still belong to the same family...

Gliding Gecko

Spotted Gecko... (you can see my camera's reflection!!! haha)

Can't remember the name to this lil thing... But it looks cute... look at it sleeping so soundly like a baby...
Green-eyed Gecko

This big guy was sooooo lazy... just look at it's expression(if it even has one)... Lazy bump

Pretty huh?soooooo many of them!!! but it was quite hard for me to take a whole group photo as they were everywhere in the aquarium...This was my best shot...Now, the Finale...

Underwater World in s'pore has the rotating thingy where it brings you round this long aquarium where the sharks and rays are mainly at? well, they have it here in Aquaria as well... But sadly, it's not as long as the 1 in Singapore... Here are some pictures taken in there...

Guess what's the funniest fish on earth?

CLOWNFISH!!! a.k.a NEMO

Another of my favourite...

Next, some snake-like creatures...

Black Spotted Eels.

This fish has Angelina Jolie's Lips....Some weird looking shark... If i'm not mistaken, it's known as the Sand Shark. No idea how you spell the name of this fish...
I think it's spelt

Anyway, It's HUGE!!!Just compare it with me!!!

The rays... There's a super big gigantic ray... The 1 and only giant in the whole aquarium...

Nope, not this 1...

This is the fellow you're looking for... (well, you can't really tell tru the pictures... you have to see it for yourself, to believe how huge it is...)This is it's tail...Now, compare it with a great white...

Lastly, the sharks... There's an interesting story to this... wait and see...

Ok, now to the story... while i was in that rotating thingy just admiring the marine lives... there were this small group of students and teachers on a tour... And their tour guide (a staff), was explaining what kinda marine creatures they have in the aquarium...

Turns out, out of soo many sharks, there is only 1 male in the whole aquarium... and a boy from the group asked...

Boy: How do you differentiate them?

staff: easy, ok let me show you...

a male and 2 extra 'tails'...

Everyone: huh?!?!?!

Ok, here's to solve the 'tail' mystery... Let me show you...

This is a female shark...

And this... is a male shark... Spot the differents??? Found the 'tails'?And that's the end of the story...

Now, for some cam-whoring session...

I love this picture!!! My favourite pic of the day...See that Orca a.k.a Killer Whale on the far right?

The next time I visit Aquaria, it's gonna be MINE!!!
Octopus hat anyone???

Ok, that's the end of my long and boring post of Aquaria... Stay tune for more...

Hopefully, it won't be as boring as this...

Most probably be more food posts coming... So, you can guess how i should look like now...
